The African American oppression —> anxiety/depression-based opioid epidemic (heroin —> fentanyl) continues to be viewed as a “moral problem” and treated differently from the current White “opioid pills from the doctor’s office epidemic.” The attached presentation is a systematic, culturally sensitive, office based, Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (M-OUD) approach specifically designed to “reverse engineer” the historically misdiagnosed, race and class based African American prison-industrial treatment complex.
