WASHINGTON (ABC7) — Mayor Muriel Bowser is pushing for more COVID-19 vaccines for District residents.
The mayor tweeted late Sunday night that the DC Health Department and George Washington Hospital administered 2,370 Johnson and Johnson vaccines at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center on Saturday.
The convention center opened for the first time since the city closed its doors because of COVID-19 a year ago.
Last week, the Mayor’s Office released numbers showing DC received 12,000 doses of Pfizer and Moderna vaccines for the week beginning February 15. This week with the addition of Johnson and Johnson, DC received 22,500 doses, almost double.
